On the first day of school, GVA students were treated to bandura music performed by the talented Taras Yanitskiy from Kyiv, Ukraine.

K-4 students participated in a hands on, two-day residency that focused on the major elements of American musicals.​

Kindergarten - Peter Pan
1st Grade - Cinderella
2nd Grade - The Jungle Book
3rd Grade - The Wizard of Oz
4th Grade - Charlie Brown
Mrs. Yakobchuck taught students about healthy teeth and gums.
The 5-7th grade student council organized a Food Drive during the holiday season. GVA students and staff donated canned and boxed food items, which were donated to the Parma Food Pantry on Broadview road. 

In January GVA students collected hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens for a local shelter. In March, the 5-7th grade student council organized a Book Drive.
Thank you to everyone for supporting our book fair and encouraging kids to read!  
We sold over $4,000 of books, which is equivalent to 144,720 reading minutes!!  
Wow!!  We will use the profit earned from Scholastic to buy more books and supplies for our teachers.
