Testing Information
According to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, "State achievement tests tell us how well our students are growing in the knowledge and skills outlined in Ohio’s Learning Standards. These tests help guide and strengthen future teaching so we can be sure that we are preparing our students for long-term success in school, college, careers and life. Test results also allow citizens to know how their local schools are performing compared to others around the state."
Students enrolled at GVA are required to take all Ohio state tests and any other examinations prescribed by law. Unless your child is significantly ill, please be sure he/she is in attendance during the testing window. Family vacations during testing windows will not be tolerated.

Reading Diagnostic Assessment (NWEA MAP)

All students in grades K - 3. Students in Grades 4-8 will also be administered a reading diagnostic to establish reading proficiency.
​
For new students starting after September, it will be administered within 30 days of enrollment.

Student enrolled in Algebra will take the High School End Of Course Exam for Algebra in leu of the grade 8 math assessment.
